Thomas Ollis Hicks, Sr. (* 1946 ) is an American entrepreneur who in Dallas (US state of Texas ) lives and, according to the Forbes magazine with a fortune of one billion dollars has (2009). Hicks is a co-founder of the investment firm Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst and chairman of Hicks Holdings LLC . The latter owns and controls the Hicks Sports Group , which includes the high-profile professional sports clubs Dallas Stars ( ice hockey ) and Mesquite Championship Rodeo ( rodeo ). The company used to include Texas Rangers ( baseball ) and half of the English football club Liverpool FC .
