César Altair Zanetti Ramos (born July 25, 1989 in Novo Hamburgo ) is a Brazilian automobile racing driver . In 2010 he won the Italian Formula 3 championship .

Career

Ramos began his motorsport career in karting in 1998 and was active in this sport until 2007. At the same time he made his debut in formula racing for the BVM Minardi team and finished 14th in the Italian Formula Renault. In addition, he started for his team in six races in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup , in which he remained without points, and in the winter championship of the Italian Formula Renault, which he dominated with four wins, four pole positions and four fastest laps from four races decided. In 2008 he stayed with the BVM Minardi Team and finished sixth in the Italian Formula Renault and seventh in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. He remained without a win in either series.

In 2009 Ramos moved to Manor Motorsport in the Formula 3 Euro Series . He was unable to keep up with his teammate Roberto Merhi , who finished seventh, and he left the series two race weekends before the end of the season. He finished the season without scoring points in 25th place in the championship. In 2010 Ramos returned to BVM Racing and competed in the Italian Formula 3 championship . With three victories he won the championship with 161 to 153 points against Stéphane Richelmi . As a reward for winning the title, Ramos was given the opportunity to take part in Formula 1 test drives for Scuderia Ferrari at the beginning of December .

In 2011 Ramos competed as Alexander Rossi's team-mate in Formula Renault 3.5 for Fortec Motorsport . With three fourth places as the best results, he finished the season in eleventh place overall, while his team-mate finished third in the championship with two wins. In 2012 , Ramos was initially without a cockpit. He returned to Formula Renault 3.5 for two events as a replacement for the injured Richie Stanaway . He drove for the Lotus team supported by Charouz Racing System . In four races he was eliminated three times and remained without points. In addition, he made his first experiences in GT racing in the International GT Open .
