Emanuele Naspetti (born February 24, 1968 in Ancona ) is a former Italian racing driver .

Career

In his second full season in motorsport, Naspetti was able to clinch a title. He almost prevailed against Mauro Martini in the Italian Formula 3 championship in 1988 .

A first setback followed in 1989 when he switched to Formula 3000 and ended the season without a championship point. In 1990 he switched to Eddie Jordan's team , but there was no success here either. At the end of the year Naspetti had only reached one championship point. It was not until his return to Forti Corse Reynard, Naspetti had already contested his Formula 3 races for the Italian racing team, that he achieved the success he wanted. In 1991 he won the races in Enna , Hockenheim , Brands Hatch and Spa-Francorchamps . In 1992 he stayed in Formula 3000 and was able to enter the list of winners at the championship run in Pau .

In the middle of 1992 the door to Formula 1 opened when he replaced Paul Belmondo at March . He became a team mate of Karl Wendlinger and competed in five races for March with eleventh place at the Portuguese Grand Prix as the best place. Naspetti spent the entire 1993 season waiting for another Formula 1 cockpit. He only got a chance once, when he drove the Jordan 193 of his former Formula 3000 team boss Eddie Jordan in Portugal .

Naspetti switched to touring cars and became Italian touring car champion in 1996 on a BMW 320i.
