Tom Lavery
Tom Lavery (actually Thomas Patrick Lavery; * December 18, 1911 , † February 7, 1987 in Germiston ) was a South African hurdler and sprinter .
At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, he reached the semi-finals over 110 m hurdles and was eliminated with the South African team in the run-up to the 4 x 100 meter relay .
In 1938 he won the British Empire Games in Sydney with his personal best of 14.0 s over 120 yard hurdles and was fourth over 100 yards . at the British Empire Games in Auckland in 1950 , he won bronze over the 120 yard hurdles.
