Tom McCormick
Tom McCormick (* 8. August 1890 in Dundalk , Ireland ; † 6. July 1916 in France ) was an Irish boxer in the welterweight division .
Professional career
McCormick made his professional debut on January 15, 1912 with a classic knockout win in Round 3 against Bill Mansell.
On January 24, 1914, he competed against the Dane Waldemar Holberg for the linear world title and won by disqualification in the 6th round in a fight scheduled for 20 rounds.
On March 21 of the same year McCormick lost this title to Matt Wells over 20 rounds by a unanimous judge decision.
McCormick's last fight, which he lost to Eddie Beattie by classic knockout on November 22, 1915, took place in the United Kingdom .
