Tom Pettings Hertzattacken was an Austrian rock band that was founded in 1980 by Eberhard Forcher and which landed an Austropop hit in 1983 with Bis zum Himalaya . The name of the band was based on the American band Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers .
history
The band was founded in 1980, and within a week both the band and the first gig in the Amerlinghaus in Vienna .
Already in June 1980 the band was represented with Tonight on the sampler EP Donaustrand and the following year with Radio Radio on the compilation Wienmusikk by the Schallter label and with All That I Can Feel Is Not for Real on U4 Live .
In 1982 the first album Tom Pettings Hertzattacken was released with the single Endlich on the radio and the following year the second album Parties nach Zwölf followed with the single Bis zum Himalaya , which, however, was to remain the only real hit (and the only chart position) of the band.
In 1985 the band broke up after they had released the album Echo der Liebe under the name Tom Petting & die Silhouetten .
