Tom van Mourik

Tom van Mourik (born March 7, 1957 in Sneek ) is a Dutch politician of the VVD .

He grew up in Ferwerd and Dokkum and worked for the municipality of Dokkum and Tytsjerksteradiel . He was also active in local politics. Van Mourik has been VVD parliamentary group chairman in the Leeuwarden local council since 1998 and an alderman since 2003, which he remained for three years. In March 2007 he was elected to the Provinciale Staten of the Province of Friesland , where he was also chairman of the parliamentary group. In the same year he also became an alderman for the municipality of Vlieland .

From 2012 to 2017 he was provisional mayor of Menameradiel and from 2017 to 2019 provisional mayor of Smallingerland .
