Tomas Rousseaux (born March 31, 1994 in Jette ) is a Belgian national volleyball player .
Career
Rousseaux comes from a volleyball family. His parents Emile and Karin were Belgian internationals in this sport. He also played soccer in his youth before turning to volleyball. He started his career at Kruikenburg Ternat , where his father started. In the 2011/12 season he played at the Topsportschool Vilvoorde . With the junior national team, of which he was the captain, he won the bronze medal at the U20 European Championship in 2012. Then the outside attacker was committed by the first division club Knack Roeselare . There his father was the trainer. In the very first season Tomas Rousseaux won the double of the championship and the national cup with the club. He was also voted Belgian Young Player of the Year in 2013. In 2014 and 2015, Roeselare was also Belgian champion. Rousseaux also played with the club in the Volleyball Champions League . In 2015 Rousseaux then moved to the Italian first division club Gabeca Volley Monza . His sister Hélène was also playing in Monza at the time. With the Belgian national team he took part in the volleyball world league in 2015 and 2016 . In the summer of 2016 he was signed by the German Bundesliga club VfB Friedrichshafen . He won the DVV Cup with the club in the 2016/17 season and became German runner-up . With the national team, he finished fourth at the 2017 European Championships . Then he moved to the Polish club AZS Olsztyn . At the 2018 World Cup , he made it to the second round with Belgium. In the 2018/19 season he played for GKS Katowice . He then moved to league rivals Asseco Resovia Rzeszów . With Belgium he finished ninth in the 2019 European Championship .
