Tombeck , actually Thomas Irlbeck , (born February 22, 1974 in Munich ) is a German magician who is known for his close-up performances.

Life

After working intensively with sorcery as a teenager, Tombeck was accepted into the “ Magical Circle of Germany ” at the age of 23 . He finally became known with his stage shows and his close-up magic, which he did to celebrities like Liz Hurley , Helmut Schmidt and Sebastian Vettel , at events of corporations like Porsche, Microsoft and ProSieben as well as in various internet magazines and TV shows such as, for example demonstrated to the FC Bayern magazine “Zoom”. As one of the leading close-up magicians, he received a teaching position in 2005 at the Magic Academy in Germany , which is considered the most renowned magic school in Europe. He also taught bar magic at the "modern bartending school". His most famous performances include “The Secret Society”, a close-up show that takes place several times a year in Munich, and the “Motorbike Card Stunt”, which he is the only magician to perform in this form.

Awards

In 2012, the “Magic Circle of Germany” invited the 100 best magicians in the country to a gala. Since then, Tombeck and other international magicians have held the Guinness World Record for the category "Most magicians in a magic gala". In 2015 Tombeck also received the “Artist of the Year” award in the “Close-Up Magic” category, which is awarded every year by the International Association for Show and Entertainment Art. A year later Tombeck became a member of the International Magicians Society, the world's largest association of magicians, and received the Merlin Award, which is considered the Oscar for magicians. Tombeck has been one of the "Top 100 Excellence Entertainers" since 2017.
