The Tomicki Chapel is one of the 19 chapels , the Krakow cathedral surrounded. It is dedicated to Thomas Becket and is located in the east ambulatory .
history
The chapel was built between 1532 and 1535 by Bartolomeo Berrecci for Bishop Piotr Tomicki in place of a Gothic chapel from the 14th century. The tomb of Piotr Tomickis in the chapel, which was built between 1531 and 1533, also goes back to Berrecci. The Renaissance grille at the entrance goes back to Hans Vischer from Nuremberg. Blessed Bishop Wincenty Kadłubek was reburied in the chapel at the beginning of the 20th century. Stanisław Barabasz created the reliquary .
