Tommy Möbius

Tommy R. Möbius (born March 9, 1975 in Leipzig ) is a German chef , restaurateur and was head chef in the restaurant "Die Ente" in Ketsch from July 2011 to the end of February 2017 .

Life

Möbius spent his childhood in the GDR , where his parents ran several restaurants and a holiday home. At the age of 14 he fled to the Federal Republic of Germany with his father. His parents were again running restaurants in Cologne. Tommy Möbius started at Axel Müller in a small restaurant that specialized in German-Mediterranean cuisine.

Later he went to Joachim Wissler 's "Restaurant Vendôme" Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg for two years . He also worked with Martin Scharff in the “Landarthotel Wartenberger Mühle” and with Armin Karrer in “Weber's Gourmet im Turm”.

In 2003 Möbius came to Austria and started as a sous chef at the top restaurant “Fabios” in Vienna. Under his leadership, it received 1 Michelin star in 2004 . In the same year Möbius also received the “Newcomer 2004” award, which Gault-Millau and Uncle Ben’s give annually.

From 2006 to 2011 he was head chef at the "Restaurant Bauer", where he earned a Michelin star and confirmed it every year.

Since July 2011 he has taken over the management of the overall culinary in the restaurant "Die Ente" in the SeeHotel Ketsch. In September 2011 “Die Ente” was awarded a Michelin star, which was confirmed every year and in 2015 as well.

Möbius is known for its consistently puristic line and has made a name for itself through reinterpretations of classic Austrian and German dishes.

On April 26, 2017, he and his wife opened the Möbius gourmet meeting place - food.point in the center of Schwetzingen's east town.

Others

Möbius works for “Austrian Wine Marketing” and makes his dishes available for photo series that are published worldwide.

In 2013 Möbius was appointed ambassador for the traditional “Schwetzinger Meisterschuss” asparagus .

Möbius regularly gives cooking courses in the Rhine-Neckar region.
