Tommy Sylvestre (born August 31, 1946 ) is a former Togolese football goalkeeper .

Sylvestre began his career in 1964 as a goalkeeper for the Étoile Filante football club from Lomé . With Étoile Filante he took part in the CAF Champions League 1968/69, in the course of which Étoile Filante had to admit defeat only in the final against TP Englebert Mazembe from Lubumbashi . Even a 4-1 in the second leg on March 30, 1969 at the Omnisport stadium in Lomé could not make up for the 5-0 defeat in the first leg.

Sylvestre played for the Togolese national football team for the first time in 1966. At the 1972 African Championship , for which Togo had qualified for the first time under German coach Gottlieb Göller , Sylvestre was in the goal of the Togoers. With two draws against Mali and Kenya and one defeat against the hosts Cameroon, the team was eliminated in the preliminary round. Also in 1972, Sylvestre was a goalkeeper in the squad of the African national team in the Taça Independência , also known as the Mini-Copa , a football tournament held from June 11 to July 9 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Brazil's independence from Portugal. Behind Sadok Sassi Attouga , however, he had to be content with the role of reservist.

During the Mini-Copa, the German regional league team Wormatia Worms announced Sylvestre's commitment, which was mediated by the ex-Wormaten Göller. Due to the dissolution of the Togolese Football Association in mid-July 1972 and the associated ban on Togolese players from abroad, the transfer ultimately failed. In 1974, shortly after the reform of Togolese football , he moved to Côte d'Ivoire, where he played for Stade Abidjan from 1974 to 1978 and from 1978 to 1982 for Stella Club Adjamé , both from the Ivorian capital Abidjan . With Stade d'Abidjan, Sylvestre won the national cup in 1976 and the championship with Stella Club in 1979 and 1981.
