Tout Puissant Mazembe , also known under the abbreviation TP Mazembe or under the name TP Mazembe Englebert , ( tout puissant , French “omnipotent”) is a football club from the Democratic Republic of the Congo . It is based in the city of Lubumbashi in the Katanga region , the club colors are black and white. With 17 titles in the Linafoot , the club is the DRC record champion.

Tout Puissant Mazembe was founded in 1939 by Benedictine monks from Élisabethville (Lubumbashi). To give the missionaries some pastime when they were not focused on studying, they founded the Holy Georges . The team played in the first division of the Fédération Royale des Associations Sportives Indigènes (FRASI), an association founded by the Belgian king. In their first season, they finished third.

Today the club is one of the most successful African clubs with five wins in the CAF Champions League . In 2010, Tout Puissant Mazembe became the first African team ever to reach the final of the FIFA Club World Cup , but lost 3-0 to Inter Milan .

The president of the association is the former provincial governor Moise Katumbi .

Youth academy

With the Les Corbeaux Katumbi Football Academy, the club currently maintains a youth academy with a similar structure as the European football youth boarding schools. In addition to training, the focus is also on school education. The most famous former players of this academy include the former U-17 national players Jonathan Musinga Mukondo, Pélé Djogo Kikuémé Manzanza and Glody Likonza Molambo, who have already gained senior experience at Mazembe in Linafoot .
