Trésor Mputu Mabi Kulila (born December 10, 1985 in Kinshasa ; also Trésor Mabi Mputu ) is a football player from the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

career

society

Mputu started playing football in his hometown with Jac Trésor FC, based in the Ndjili neighborhood. In the 1990s, the club was a successful talent factory and produced René Makondele , among others . In 2002 he enrolled at Kin City. With both clubs he won several district and regional championships. In 2004 Mputus moved to the first division club TP Mazembe from Lubumbashi . At the Les corbeaux he flourished in the following years and was able to effectively refine his skills. Soon he was named team captain and led the team to three national championship titles in 2006, 2007 and 2009 and to the final of the Coupe du Congo in 2008 . After a long period of time, TP Mazembe has also become an established player internationally and was able to win the most prestigious African club tournament again after 41 years with the CAF Champions League in 2009 . In 2010 he won the CAF Super Cup . For the first time in the focus of the media public Mputu was moved by Claude Le Roy , who described the striker as "the next Samuel Eto'o ". The playful quality of Mputus aroused covetousness on the part of numerous European clubs from 2007 onwards. He has been interviewed at Celtic Glasgow , Glasgow Rangers , Arsenal London , Blackburn Rovers and Standard Liège, among others . In February 2010, Mputu announced that he planned to leave TP Mazembe during the summer transfer window in June or July.

However, his prospects for a change soon dissipated, as FIFA suspended him from all competitions for twelve months on August 30, 2010. The reason for this drastic step were events during the Kagame Inter-Club Cup in Rwanda last May . In the game against APR FC , TP Mazembe was denied recognition of a goal by the referee in the 34th minute. Thereupon team captain Mputu incited his teammates and massively harassed the officials. He is also alleged to have kicked the referee in the chest . The events led to the immediate cancellation of the game and the expulsion of the TP Mazembe. Both the CAF and FIFA discussed sanctions, which were finally announced at the end of August. Mputu's teammate Guy Basisila Lusadisu received an eleven-month suspension. Due to his suspension, Mputu missed all games of the CAF Champions League 2010 , in which his club was able to defend the title, from the group stage onwards , the FIFA Club World Cup 2010 , in which TP Mazembe surprisingly took second place, winning the CAF Super Cup 2011 thanks to his club, winning the 2011 championship and the 2011 African Nations Cup . His suspension ended on August 11, 2011 and on August 17, he ran for the first time in a league game against TS Malekesa ; after just 46 seconds he scored the goal to win the game 1-0.

National team

Since 2004 Mputu has been playing for the national team of the DR Congo and took part in the 2006 African Football Championship in Egypt , where he took the lead in the first group game against Togo . In the second game against Angola but was already 19 minutes sent off and missed due to lock the remaining games of his team, which was eliminated in the quarterfinals. Mputu's greatest success with the national team so far was the victory at the African Nations Cup in 2009 , at the end of which he was also honored as the most valuable player of the tournament.
