Tomoaki Makino ( Japanese 槙 野 智 章 , Makino Tomoaki ; born May 11, 1987 in Nishi-ku , Hiroshima ) is a Japanese football player .

Club career

Sanfrecce Hiroshima

Makino played for Sanfrecce Hiroshima in his youth and began his professional career there in 2006 . In total, he was on the pitch 130 times for Hiroshima, including 86 first division games .

1. FC Cologne

In the winter break of 2010/11, Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln signed Makino. He signed a contract dated June 30, 2013. Originally it was planned that he would join the 1. FC Köln team after participating with the Japanese national soccer team in the 2011 Asian soccer championship in Qatar . However, Makino had to cancel his participation due to an injury and took part in the team training of 1. FC Köln for the first time on January 17, 2011 after successful rehab. He made his league debut for the first 1. FC Köln on January 29, 2011 in the 3-0 defeat against FC St. Pauli .

Urawa Red Diamonds

In January 2012, 1. FC Köln awarded Makino to Urawa Red Diamonds until December 31, 2012 . In the 2012 season he made 33 appearances as a central defender and scored six goals. At the beginning of December 2012 he was signed by Urawa.

National team

In 2006 he was part of the Japanese U-19 squad at the AFC Youth Championship and finished second in that tournament. With the Japanese U-20 national team he took part in the U-20 World Cup in Canada in 2007 and was eliminated with the team in the round of 16.

He made his international debut for the Japanese national soccer team on January 6, 2010 against the Yemeni national soccer team . He was part of the squad for the 2011 Asian Football Championship. On January 6, 2011, he suffered an ankle injury. Mitsuru Nagata was nominated for him .

Makino scored his first international goal on February 24, 2012 in a 3-1 win over the Icelandic national football team .
