Tomokazu Sugimoto

Tomokazu Sugimoto ( Japanese 杉 本 智 和 , Sugimoto Tomokazu ; born November 6, 1968 in Funabashi , Chiba Prefecture ) is a Japanese jazz musician ( double bass ).

Tomokazu Sugimoto played with Masahiko Osaka in the mid-1990s , with whom the first recordings were made in 1996 ( Black Box ). In the following years he worked a. a. with Chie Ayado , Masabumi Kikuchi ( On the Move , 2001), Yoshiro Okazaki , Kei Akagi and Hakuei Kim . In the field of jazz he was involved in eleven recording sessions between 1996 and 2011, most recently with Kohsuke Mine ( With Your Soul ). In the 2010s he continued to play in the Tamaya Honda Bass Voodoo Trio and in a duo with pianist Yoshichika Tarue (Rain Man's Story , 2012).
