Tomoko Amemiya ( Japanese 雨 宮 智子 , Amemiya Tomoko ) is a former Japanese skeleton pilot .
Career
Tomoko Amemiya was internationally active in skeleton sport in the early 2000s. She contested her first skeleton World Cup race in January 2000 in Lillehammer , where she was 16th and thus achieved her best result in the top racing series. Another race in Winterberg she finished 18th. In the overall standings 1999/2000 Amemiya was 20th highlight of the season and career was participation in the Skeleton World Championship in 2000 , where a competition for women was held for the first time. The Japanese reached 17th place. In the following season it was only used in one race each in the two lower-class racing series of the Skeleton European Cup and the Skeleton America's Cup . In the European Cup of Igls Amemiya finished 19th in the America's Cup in Calgary on 15th place. At the national championships , the Japanese won the title in 2000 ahead of Mikiko Yoshioka and Yoshiko Ōta .
