Toni Braun
Toni Braun , married Lücke ( September 23, 1876 in Vienna - December 19, 1911 in Davos Platz ) was an Austrian theater actress and singer ( soprano ).
Life
After she, the daughter of a businessman, had been prepared for the stage profession by the singing teacher Gustav Geiringer (1856–1946), she entered the stage for the very first time on August 1, 1899 in Leipzig as “Mimosa” in “Geisha” and performed this role there to the first representation. She stayed for two years, acquired routine on stage and built a very rich operetta repertoire . In 1901 the young artist was hired as a guest for the Raimund Theater in Vienna. After several months of work, she was engaged as the first operetta soubrette for the Jantschtheater in Vienna from September 1902. Engagements at the Leipzig Opera House and the Dresden Residenz Theater followed .
Braun was married to the gentleman rider Hans Lücke. She died of pulmonary tuberculosis .
