Toni Hilti

Anton "Toni" Hilti (born January 17, 1914 in Schaan ; † January 2, 2006 in Triesen ) was a Liechtenstein entrepreneur . He was a co-founder of the canning company Hilcona AG .

biography

Toni Hilti was one of eleven children of Schaan master butcher Joseph Hilti (1867–1935) and his wife Walburga (1875–1930, née Quaderer). His siblings include the sculptor Gottfried Hilti , the deputy MP Hans Hilti , and the founders of the drilling machine manufacturer " Hilti ", Eugen Hilti and Martin Hilti .

Toni Hilti learned canning technology at the technical college in Braunschweig . In 1935 he founded the “Conservenfabrik AG” in Schaan together with a brother-in-law. In 1936 the production of canned food with "peas, beans, spinach and various fruits" started. Soon after that in the same year the company was renamed "Scana AG". In 1939 a sauerkraut factory was built next to the canned food factory . The expansion and expansion of the factory enabled the production of frozen vegetables in 1956 . In 1973 the company was renamed "Hilcona AG". Around 1000 employees work at Hilcona today.

Hilti was married and had four sons (Ekkehard, Jürgen, Wolfgang and Dieter) and a daughter (Bettina).
