Tonja Buford-Bailey

Tonja Buford-Bailey (born Buford ; born December 13, 1970 in Dayton , Ohio ) is a former American athlete and Olympic third party.

Buford-Bailey participated in the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , she won the bronze medal in the 400-meter hurdles , behind the Jamaican Deon Hemmings (gold) and the American Kim Batten (silver).

She also won the silver medal at the 1995 World Championships in Gothenburg , one hundredth behind Kim Batten , who set a new world record with 52.61 s.

She has been married to American footballer Victor Bailey since October 28, 1995 and is the mother of one son.
