Tony Alexis

Tony Alexis (* 1962 in Spain ) is a Spanish clown . He always appears as stupid August .

Alexis was born in Spain and lives in Stockheim in the Düren district , North Rhine-Westphalia .

Alexis has been a clown since childhood. He says himself that he just hasn't been to North Korea and China. He often performs as a clown quartet with his German wife Jeanette-Babette, who also appears as the stupid August, and his sons Totti and Tonito. His sons appear as white clowns . Tony Alexis made his first appearance at the age of five with his father in Barcelona .

Tony Alexis' credo is: "I am not a clown to live, I live to be a clown".

Tony's father, grandfather and brother were also clowns. He was employed at Circus Krone for 15 years . He also performed at the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival . He dreams of opening a clown school.

Awards

In 2006 he was awarded the Premio Nacional de Circo by the Spanish Ministry of Culture . The ceremony took the Spanish King I. Juan Carlos before. In 1992 and 1995 he received the gold medal at the Rome Festival . He also received a total of three awards at the Grenoble International Circus Festival . In 2018 he received the golden Charlie Chaplin trophy in São Paulo
