The Ruda Chebzie – Zabrze Biskupice (Morgenroth – Borsigwerk) railway is a single-track railway line in the Polish Silesian Voivodeship that is only operated in freight traffic .
Course and condition
The line begins at Ruda Chebzie station (Morgenroth State Station ) on the Katowice – Legnica line and runs northwest via the Ruda Orzegów junction (km 1.616), at which the Ruda Kochłowice – Ruda Orzegów freight line ends, and the Kuźnica junction (km 3.546) , of which there was a branch line to Bytom , to Zabrze Biskupice (Borsigwerk State Railway Station; km 6.210) on the Bytom – Wroclaw and Zabrze Biskupice – Gliwice lines .
The route is single-track, not electrified and can be driven at thirty kilometers per hour.
history
The section Morgenroth - Orzegow - Karf was from the September 15, 1859 Upper Silesian Railway opened, the rest of the route of Orzegow by Borsig work on 1 October 1899 by the Prussian state railways , on 1 October 1900, the link to Bytom .
Passenger traffic was completely stopped by 1966, and the line between the Kuźnica and Bytom junction was also closed.
