history

The first section of today's route No. 187 was opened by the Upper Silesian Railway (OSE) on November 8, 1855, from Morgenroth to Friedenshütte with continuation to Gleiwitz , followed by the section from Morgenroth to Orzegow with continuation to Beuthen on September 15, 1859 . The section from Kochlowitz to Friedenshütte was put into operation on January 2, 1906 by the Prussian State Railways , of which the Upper Silesian Railway had become part.

With the division of Upper Silesia along the so-called Sforza Line in 1921 as a result of the First World War , the Versailles Treaty and the referendum in Upper Silesia , the line now ran in the re-established Second Polish Republic and became part of the Polish State Railways . After the occupation of Poland in World War II , the line became part of the Deutsche Reichsbahn , and after the end of the war it became part of the Polish State Railways.

Passenger traffic between Chebzie (Morgenroth, today Ruda Chebzie) and Ruda Orzegów (Orzegow) ceased on October 1, 1966, between Ruda Kochłowice (Kochlowitz) and Ruda Chebzie on November 1, 1980, between Ruda Kochłowice and Ruda Czarny Las (Black Forest) the line was shut down on November 28, 2000.
