Tony Bevan (* 1951 in Bradford , England ) is a contemporary figurative painter. He lives and works in London .

“The central subject of the picture is the person exposed to the viewer without protection - not an individual, but a generalized type - […]. Characteristic pictorial means are the black contour and the accentuated structure of veins and hair as well as thickly applied pigment in dense spots, which serve to alienate and distinguish from reality.
