Tony Hadley
Anthony Patrick "Tony" Hadley (born June 2, 1960 in Islington ) is a British pop singer . He was the singer of the new romantic band Spandau Ballet from 1979 to 1990 and 2009 to 2017 .
Life
Hadley's career began in 1974 by winning a talent competition. In 1979 he teamed up with the two brothers Gary and Martin Kemp and the result was the band Spandau Ballet , which celebrated great success worldwide in the 1980s. a. with titles like True (1983), Gold (1983) or Only When You Leave (1984).
After the breakup of Spandau Ballet in 1990, Hadley built a solo career. In 1992 his debut album The State of Play was released , from which three moderately successful singles were released. In 1997, in collaboration with the British house band Tin Tin Out , the single Dance With Me was created , with which Hadley once again made it into the charts. In the same year he released his second album Tony Hadley , which contains mostly cover versions . In 1999 he toured Europe as a singer with Alan Parsons on The Time Machine tour.
In 2003, Hadley was a winner in the reality TV series Reborn in the USA on the British TV channel ITV . From late January to mid-April 2007 he played lawyer Billy Flynn in the musical "Chicago" at the Cambridge Theater in London's West End. Since mid-2007 he has hosted the Tony Hadley Party Classics on Virgin Radio .
From 1983 to 2003 Hadley was married to his childhood sweetheart Leonie. From this marriage there were three children. He also has two children with Alison Evers, with whom he has been married since 2009.
