Tony Stokes (born January 7, 1987 in London , England ) is an English football player who is currently under contract with the Hungarian first division club Újpest FC .

The midfielder , who comes from West Ham's well-known youth work, made his debut in the Carling Cup in 2005 at the age of 18. During the 2005-06 season he was loaned to Rushden & Diamonds . In August 2006 he was loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion for a month , the loan deal was extended prematurely by a month, Stokes moved back to West Ham United after the loan period ended, as he saw no chance of a regular place in Brighton. He was then loaned out to Stevenage Borough , where he played three games and scored his first career goal in a competitive game.

After two months, he returned to West Ham United. After he still saw no sporting prospects with the Londoners, another loan deal took place and he moved to the Hungarian first division club Újpest FC until the end of the season . After his contract with West Ham United was not renewed, as expected, he signed a new contract with Újpest FC.
