Toomas Vint
Toomas Vint (born March 5, 1944 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian writer and painter .
life and work
Toomas Vint was born the son of the Estonian economist Endel Vint (1907-1983). He studied from 1962 to 1966 at the State University of Tartu biology . In addition, he conducted art studies independently . As a painter, Vint has emerged primarily with metaphysical, surrealist and postmodern images.
He is also known as a writer. He has published numerous poems , short stories and short stories . The recurring motif is the loneliness of modern humans. In 1979 and 1984 Vint received the Friedebert Tuglas Prize , and in 1998 the Estonian Annual Prize for Literature. Toomas Vint has been a member of the Estonian Artists Association ( Estonian Eesti Kunstnike Liit ) since 1973 and of the Estonian Writers' Association ( Eesti Kirjanike Liit ) since 1977 .

Private life
Toomas Vint is married to the Estonian painter and graphic artist Aili Vint (* 1941). He is the brother of the Estonian graphic artists and painters Tõnis Vint (* 1942) and Maara Vint (* 1955).
