Top 12 (women) 2006/07
The Top 12 2006/07 was the fifth French team championship in women's chess and also the first under this name.
Champion was Club de Clichy-Echecs-92 , while the defending champion Évry Grand Roque did not go to the preliminary round and thus relegated. The Club de Rennes Paul Bert , the Club de Echiquier Guingampais and the Paris Chess Club had been promoted from the Nationale II (there was no fourth promoter in the previous year, as the first team of the Club de Bischwiller in the Nationale I had landed on a relegation zone , however, the second team occupied a promotion place in the National II). All three newcomers achieved relegation, while next to Évry Marseille Duchamps , CE de Bois-Colombes and the Club de Thomas Bourgneuf Créteil occupied the relegation places. However, the Paris Chess Club withdrew their team after the season, so Bois-Colombes remained first class. For the reported team squads, see Team squad of the top 12 (women) 2006/07 .
Game dates
The preliminary round took place from May 11th to 13th, 2007 and was organized centrally in Rennes . The final round was played on June 23 and 24 in Clichy .
mode
The twelve participating clubs were divided into two groups of six ( Groupe A and Groupe B ) and played a simple round-robin tournament in these . The number of team points (3 points for a win, 2 points for a tie, 1 point for a defeat, 0 points for a defeat without a fight) first decided on the placement, then the difference between winning and losing games and finally the number of winning games . The last two in each group were relegated to National I, while the first two in each group qualified for the final round. This was carried out in the knockout system , with third place also being played out.

Mulhouse was already qualified for the semi-finals before the last lap, while Rennes only secured second place in the last lap.

Groupe B
Clichy and Vandœuvre had secured the two semi-finals before the last round, while the other four teams were still fighting to stay in the league. In purely sporting terms, Bois-Colombes and Créteil would have been relegated, but with the withdrawal of the Paris Chess Club, Bois-Colombes still managed to stay in the league.

French team champion: Club de Clichy-Echecs-92 |
Semifinals
Both semifinals saw clear 4-0 victories for the teams from Groupe B. While Clichy's victory was also to be expected at this height (Clichy's nominally weakest player was almost 200 Elo points better than Rennes's nominally strongest player), Vandœuvre was on paper only slightly favored against Mulhouse.
Final and 3rd place match
Both in the final and in the match for third place, the teams that were victorious in the preliminary round again clearly prevailed.
