Torbjorn Iwan Lundquist
Torbjörn Iwan Lundquist (born September 30, 1920 in Stockholm , † July 1, 2000 in Grillby ) was a Swedish composer and conductor .
Life
Lundquist was a student of Dag Wirén and Issai Dobrowen . From 1949 to 1956 he was the conductor of the Drottningholm Palace Theater , after which he was mainly active as a guest conductor in various orchestras.
Works
Lundquist composed two operas , nine symphonies , a piano concerto , chamber music works, drama and film music and songs . In addition, he composed several artistically demanding works for the accordion: a chamber concerto for accordion and orchestra, the Duel for accordion and percussion, movements for accordion and string quartet as well as metamorphoses and inventions for accordion solo.
