Torey Lynn Hayden (actually Victoria Lynn Hayden ; born May 21, 1951 in Livingston , Montana ) is an American author and psychologist .

Life

Hayden was born in Montana in 1951. In 1980 she moved to Wales . In 1982 she married a Scot. Her daughter Sheena, with whom she currently lives on a farm in Scotland , was born in 1985.

Torey Lynn Hayden is a trained psychologist and educator for behavioral and mentally disabled children and adolescents. She developed a method for the treatment of mutism (being silent when the ability to speak) and gained a lot of international attention through the exciting case studies of "her" children. In her home country and in Europe she is one of the best-known and most successful authors of psychological non-fiction.
