Tormentor ( spelling TormentoR) is a Cottbus thrash metal band that was founded in 2006.

history

The band was founded in 2006 by 12 year old Max Seipke. Together with the producer Evil (Antimensch) he recorded the first Demo Lesson in Aggression in 2007 , which was released in the same year. After the release, Thomas Wedemeyer joined the band as a drummer. With the demo and some new songs, they went on tour through the Lausitz for the next two years . Mille Petrozza became aware of the band through radio recordings and praised the group. 2010 began recording for the debut album Violent World with the producer Evil. After these ended in 2011, Kevin Hauch joined as guitarist and Christian Schomber as bassist. In February 2012, Violent World was released on Iron Shield Records . This was followed by a tour of Brandenburg , Saxony and Poland , which allowed the group to increase its popularity. In 2013 and 2014 the band wrote new songs that were released in 2016. This resulted in the 2016 album Morbid Realization , which was also released on Iron Shield Records.

style

According to Björn Thorsten Jaschinski from Rock Hard , you can hear Thrash Metal on Violent World , which is similar to Kreator's music. The singing in particular is similar to that of Mille Petrozza . The initial situation of the group is reminiscent of that of the Suicidal Angels , if only without their label and booking agency support. There is a youthfulness inherent in the songs, but this is soon lost again and the songs are now hardly aggressive. A few issues later, Wolfram Küper reviewed and noted that you could tell from the name that the band was mainly influenced by Kreator . The EP continues the high level of the debut album, where you can listen to the songs the youthful carefree and passion. Christian Wiederwald from Stormbringer.at noticed that the Kreator album is moving away and towards early Sepultura works, whereby the songs are characterized by tempo changes and early Thrash Metal.
