Toronto Book Awards
The Toronto Book Awards are Canadian literary prizes given annually by the City of Toronto since 1974 to the author of the best literary work in the field of fiction or non-fiction , who particularly emphasizes Toronto.
Each of the shortlisted authors will receive a cash prize of C $ 1,000 ; the winner will eventually receive the balance of the grand total of $ 15,000. There have been collective winners in the past. The literary year 1987 was the first year in the history of the literary prize in which individual prizes were awarded.
