Torpedo bauchotae is a ray species from the family of the torpedo . He lives off the coasts of Senegal , near Pointe-Noire ( Republic of the Congo ) and off the Ivory Coast .

features

Torpedo bauchotae has the typical, somewhat wider than long disc shape of its family, consisting of the body and pectoral fins , with the front edge of the disc being straight. The basic color of the upper side is yellow-brown to ocher-pink, with lighter or darker spots that can be bordered with thin black. A wavy black pattern winds around the outside of the disc. The underside is uniformly rosy white. The known, not fully grown specimens were about 15 centimeters long. The ventral and dorsal fins are rounded. There are nine or ten finger-like papillae around the breathing hole. The molar-like teeth lie in four rows in front of both jaws.

The species is ovoviviparous .
