Life

Torsten Fritzlar first studied mathematics, physics and astronomy for high school teaching at the Erfurt University of Education and from 1994 at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . In 1996 he passed the first state examination. From 1997 to 2002 he was a research assistant in the department for didactics of mathematics and computer science at the University of Jena. From 2002 to 2004 he completed his legal clerkship at the Carl-Zeiss-Gymnasium in Jena , where he worked as a teacher from 2004 to 2005 after his second state examination. In 2003 he received his doctorate as Dr. rer. nat. by the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena on the subject of the sensitivity of students to the complexity of problem-oriented mathematics lessons .

From 2005 to 2009 Fritzlar worked at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg as a junior professor for mathematics and mathematics didactics. In the 2007/2008 winter semester, he took over the professorship for elementary didactics in mathematics at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg .
