Torsten Koch (politician)

Torsten Koch (born August 21, 1963 in Dessau ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2002 to 2006 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

Koch attended the Polytechnic High School from 1970 to 1981 and trained as a construction worker from 1981 to 1983. He then worked as a construction worker at the road, bridge and civil engineering combine in Halle-Neustadt until 1990 . From 1991 to 1996 he was a technical employee at a construction company, from 1998 to 2002 a commercial employee.

Koch joined the CDU in 1990 and was elected deputy chairman of the CDU district association Saalkreis in 1999. From 1990 to 1991 he was deputy mayor and from 1995 to 2002 mayor of the community of Gröbers . From 1999 he was a member of the district council of the Saalkreis . In the state elections in April 2002 , he was elected to the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt as a direct candidate for the CDU through constituency 38 (Bad Dürrenberg-Saalekreis) . He won the direct mandate with 40.5% of the first votes . He was a member of the state parliament until 2006, where he was a member of the committee for the environment.

Furthermore, from 1996 to 2004, Koch was president of the Eintracht Gröbers sports club .
