Torsten Stein (basketball player)
Torsten Stein (* in Berlin ) is a former German basketball player .
career
The 2.18 meter tall stone went to the United States in 1985 as a basketball player and student , where he played at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the state of New Jersey . The Berliner was used in 68 games and achieved averages of 2.9 points and 3.2 rebounds. One of his strengths was blocking opposing throws, in the 1987/88 season he statistically managed 1.6 and in 1988/89 even 2.1 blocks per encounter.
Stein went back to Germany and played in the 1989/90 season for Goldstar Hagen in the basketball league . In the run-up to the 1990/91 game year, he moved to Steiner Bayreuth within the Bundesliga . At the end of August 1990 he was in a friendly match in Frankfurt am Main between Bayreuth and a selection of US soldiers on the field together with Michael Jordan , who was on a promotional trip for a sporting goods manufacturer and was part of the Bayreuth team.
Stein, who suffered from back pain as an athlete , came into contact with the Gonstead method during treatment by a chiropractor and later worked in this field himself. Stein received his doctorate from the Sherman College Chiropractic School in the US state of South Carolina . He settled in Glendale ( Arizona, USA ) as a chiropractor specializing in the Gonstead method and describes himself as the "greatest chiropractor in the world".
