Torvik is a place in Norway .

The village on the island of Leinøya belongs to the municipality of Herøy in the Sunnmøre region southwest of Ålesund in western Norway .
Torvik is the third port coming from Bergen that the northbound port and the third from last port that the southbound ships of the Hurtigruten call. Around 8,500 people live in Torvik and Herøy municipality. In addition to fishing and agriculture, the main income of the inhabitants is also work in the surrounding shipbuilding industry.

In the vicinity of Torvik lies the famous bird island Runde , Norway's southernmost bird cliff, where several 100,000 sea birds such as kittiwakes , puffins , shags and numerous other bird species breed in summer .
Until the completion of the Rundebrua in 1982 there was a ferry connection between Runde, Torvik and Ulsteinvik .

Because of the sheltered but difficult mooring situation at Hurtigruten quay in Torvik, it is being discussed whether it should be moved a few kilometers to Mjølstadneset, the industrial area of ​​Herøy municipality.
