The gatekeeper house in Oberderdingen , a municipality in the district of Karlsruhe ( Baden-Württemberg ), is a house built in 1772 at the entrance to the Amthof . The building at Amthof 4 is a protected architectural monument .

history

After the moat of the Amthof was abandoned and the gate tower was demolished, the main entrance to the Amthof was relocated to the southeastern side. A gate was built here for the entrance and next to it the gatekeeper house.

description

The gatekeeper house was built from rubble stones from the local sandstone . It consists of a ground floor and an attic, which are covered by a gable roof with a crooked hip.

Todays use

After extensive renovations the church was opened in 1986 in Oberderdingen gatekeepers house a community library .
