Toshiyuki Abe ( Japanese 阿 部 敏 之 , Abe Toshiyuki ; born August 1, 1974 in Saitama Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Abe learned to play football on the school team at Teikyo High School and the university team at Tsukuba University . He signed his first contract with the Kashima Antlers in 1995 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . With the club he became Japanese champions in 1996 and 1998 . In 1997 he won the J.League Cup and Kaiserpokal with the club . For the club he completed 63 first division games. In 2000 he moved to the second division Urawa Red Diamonds . In 2000 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club and was promoted to the J1 League. For the club he completed 55 games. In September 2002 he moved to league rivals Vegalta Sendai . For the club he completed 25 first division games. In 2004 he moved to league rivals Albirex Niigata . In 2005 he moved to league rivals Kashima Antlers. At the end of 2005 he ended his career as a soccer player.
