Toshiyuki Hosokawa

Toshiyuki Hosokawa ( Japanese 細 川 俊 之 , Hosokawa Toshiyuki ; born December 15, 1940 in Kitakyūshū , Japan ; † January 14, 2011 in Tokyo ) was a Japanese actor and radio host.

Life

Hosokawa was born in Kitakyushu and grew up in Fukuoka Prefecture . He started his career in 1964 when he, after the Gakushuin University left, the Bungakuza - Theater joined.

In 1967 he married the Japanese actress Mayumi Ogawa , with whom he has a child, and in 1973 the couple divorced. A year later, in 1974, he married his second wife, former Takarazuka Revue actress Norie Fujimoto , with whom he was married until his death.

In January 2011, Hosokawa suffered serious head injuries in a fall, as a result of which he died on January 14, 2011 at the age of 70 in hospital of a subdural hematoma .

Act

Hosokawa was best known in 1970 through the film Eros + Massacre by director Yoshishige Yoshida . Together with the actress Nana Kinomi he played in the musical Show Girl, which ran for 15 years .

He became better known in 1994 with the Nihon TV drama series Ie naki ko , and in 1997 with the comedy Radio-Zeit (Rajio no Jikan) . In addition to his acting career and work as a radio presenter, including at FM Tokyo in the program World of Elegance ( Japanese ワ ー ル ド ・ オ ブ ・ エ レ ガ ン ス ), Hosokawa has been a professor at Osaka University of Arts since 2004 .
