Totternhoe Castle is an abandoned castle in the village of Totternhoe in the English county of Bedfordshire . Only earthworks have survived to this day. They are considered a Scheduled Monument and part of the Totternhoe Knolls , a Site of Special Scientific Interest .

Details

Totternhoe Castle is above the village of Totternhoe near the town of Dunstable . The moth was built in Norman times, probably during the Anarchy Civil War . It had two bailey instead of the usual one. A wide moat protected three sides of the castle, the fourth was secured by the edge of the chalk hill on which it stands.
