Towa Carson (born March 31, 1936 in Eskilstuna ) is a Swedish pop singer . Her real name is Birgit Rose-Marie Anlert, née Carlsson. She made her debut in 1954 and soon had success in the 1950s and 1960s, where she recorded many duets with Lasse Lönndahl . In 2004, at the age of 68, she teamed up with former Melodifestivalen participants Siw Malmkvist and Ann-Louise Hanson to take part in the competition again under the name Hanson, Carson & Malmkvist . Due to the advanced age of the singers, their appearance in the media was picked up. Her song C'est la vie eventually reached tenth place.

Carson is married to former soccer player Bengt Anlert . The unusual first name of her stage name is based on the nickname "Min lilla Tova" used by her father, which alludes to her tangled hair ( tova means shag or tuft of hair in Swedish).
