Bruno Meier (* 1962 in Wettingen ) is a Swiss historian and publisher .

Meier has studied at the University of Zurich history and journalism and was with a thesis on the 1994 Surbtal in the late Middle Ages doctorate . From 1991 to 1997 he headed the Historical Museum Baden and from 1997 to 2002 he was President of the Historical Society of the Canton of Aargau . In 1998, together with Andreas Steigmeier and Urs Bernet, he founded the publishing house “ Hier und Jetzt ”. Since 2016 he has been leading it with the historian and author Denise Schmid .
