Coordinates: 33 ° 53 ′ S , 151 ° 15 ′ E The Town of Gawler is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . Burnside is part of the metropolis of Adelaide , the capital of South Australia. The area is 41 km² and has about 23,000 inhabitants (2016).
Gawler is located on the northern edge of Adelaide about 35 km northeast of the city center. The area includes twelve neighborhoods: Bibaringa, Evanston, Evanston Gardens, Evanston Park, Evanston South, Gawler , Gawler East, Gawler South, Gawler West, Hillier, Kudla, and Willaston. The council's administrative headquarters are in the Gawler district.

The Town of Gawler Council has eleven members. The ten Area Councilors, like the Council Chairman and Mayor, are directly elected by all residents of the town. Gawler is not divided into districts.
