Toxin BoP1 (synonym potassium channel toxin alpha-KTx 16.8 ) is a toxin from the scorpion Buthus occitanus Paris (field scorpion).
properties
Toxin BoP1 is a protein and scorpion toxin from the field scorpion, as well as BoPKTX and toxin BoP2 . It binds to synaptosomes of rats with an IC 50 >> 100 nM . Toxin BoP1 binds weakly to the potassium channel Kv1.3 . Presumably it binds to KCa1.1 / KCNMA1 . It is structurally related to martentoxin .
