The Tozitna River is a 134 km long right tributary of the Yukon River in central Alaska .
It rises in the Interior in the Ray Mountains , initially flows between the Ray Mountains in the north and the Rampart Mountains in the south in a westerly direction, then turns south and flows west of Tanana into the Yukon River.
The native name for the river was documented as "Towshecargut" in 1867 by an expedition of the Western Union Telegraph Company . The spellings “Tosekargut” and “Tosikakat” also appeared a little later in reports from the United States Revenue Cutter Service .
