Trageboto († September 1, 1182 or 1183 ) was abbot of the Benedictine monastery in Münsterschwarzach from 1180 or 1181 to 1182 or 1183 .

While the reforms of Gorze , which had shaped the monastery in the 11th and 12th centuries, no longer had an impact in Münsterschwarzach, the renewals of Hirsau established themselves in the Main Abbey. The first representative of these reforms was Abbot Dietrich I , who came directly from the Black Forest monastery. Under his successors, the monastery was able to consolidate further, and even some representative building projects were implemented.

Life

Nothing precise is known about the origin and the family of Abbot Trageboto. What is certain is that he became abbot in 1180 or 1181 after Abbot Gozwin died in the middle of the year. Due to the relatively short term of office, only a few official acts of Trageboto have survived. He completed the buildings, including the cloister , that had been started under his predecessors. Abbot Trageboto died on September 1st in the years 1182 and 1183.
