The Trammer See is located north of Plön and belongs to the communities of Plön and Rathjensdorf . The lake is partly privately owned and partly belongs to the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
Due to its relatively great depth, the lake is relatively poor in nutrients ( oligotrophic ).
In the lake there are four uninhabited islands, of which the two largest, Ziegen Warder and Groter Warder, are connected by a narrow land bridge.
freetime and recreation
With a shore length of 7.9 km, the lake can be comfortably hiked around, partly a little off the shore. From the Parnassurm in Plön, which is on the route, there is a beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding area. There are several bathing spots on the lakeshore (in Plön and in Tramm).
In spring and early summer, sea eagles can be observed at their eyrie from a platform set up by the Sea Eagle Protection Project Group in Schleswig-Holstein (access from Rathjensdorf).
