The Trango Towers , which are part of the Trango Group , form a chain of granite peaks on the north side of the Baltoro Glacier across from Urdukas in the Baltoro Muztagh in the Karakoram . The Trangos consist of several peaks with partly almost vertical walls. The Trango Towers are flanked by the Dunge Glacier to the east and the Trango Glacier to the west .

The highest peak at 6,287  m , the Great Trango Tower , was first reached on July 21, 1977 by the Americans Galen Rowell , John Roskelley , Kim Schmitz and Dennis Hennek through the south face. To the south of the summit are two smaller sub-peaks, the Trango Pulpit and the Trango Castle .

The most spectacular of the Trango Towers is the 6251  m high Nameless Tower , also known as the Trango Tower , which is located in the northwest of the Great Trango Tower. On July 8, 1976, the British Mo Anthoine and Martin Boysen made the first ascent over the southwest face. The next day Joe Brown and Malcom Howells followed .

In the north of the Trango Tower is the Trango Monk .

Further to the north there are other mountains called Trango , which are usually not included in the group. First comes the Trango Ri with a height of 6363  m . To the southeast of this summit is the Trango II with a height of 6327  m .
