The Trango Monk ( Monk English for “monk”) is a 5850 m high granite peak on the north side of the Baltoro Glacier across from Urdukas in the Baltoro Muztagh in northern Pakistan . It is located about 400 m north of the Trango Tower . The Trango Monk forms a southern sub-peak of the Trango Ri ( 6363 m ). It is located on the southeast flank of Trango II ( 6327 m ).
Ascent history
The first ascent of Trango Monk was achieved on September 6, 2004 by the three Slovenes Klemen Mali , Miha Valic and Tomaz Jakofcic . They climbed from the saddle on the north side of the Trango Tower up the east face to the summit in two days. They named the climbing route (450 m, 6b A2 70 °) Chota Badla .
